Built to last: the BAAK approach, brand by brand

Triumph, Royal Enfield, Moto Guzzi, BMW. Four brands, one requirement: parts that last. Built in Rillieux-la-Pape to fit each model precisely.

Some machines, at first glance, say something about their owner. Not through ostentation — through coherence. A handlebar set just right, a seat whose leather has taken the shape of the journey, parts that seem to have always been there.

That’s what well-made work looks like to us.

From the BAAK workshop in Rillieux-la-Pape, Lyon, we design and manufacture parts for motorcycles that have character. Triumph, Royal Enfield, Moto Guzzi, BMW. Aluminium, stainless steel, full-grain double vegetable-tanned leather — materials chosen to last, not to impress. Here’s how we approach our work, brand by brand.

Triumph: British precision, taken further

The modern Triumph range — Bonneville T100 and T120, Thruxton 1200, Speed Twin, Street Twin, Scrambler — has that rare quality of looking right straight from the factory. Which leaves a narrow but precise margin for improvement: every part added must earn its place, without betraying the original balance.

Our parts for Triumph are made in aluminium and stainless steel, in brushed or black satin finishes that sit naturally within the brand’s visual vocabulary. The engine guard — 1.5mm stainless steel, available in black satin or brushed — is one of our most requested references: it reinforces engine protection while giving the machine a more decisive line towards the ground. On a Scrambler 1200, our aluminium wind deflector corrects what Triumph left open — without altering the original aesthetic.

The seat is the most intimate point of contact between a rider and their motorcycle. For the Thruxton 1200, our Racer seat in full-grain double vegetable-tanned leather is hand-finished in the BAAK workshop. For the Scrambler, Bonneville and Street Twin, the Heritage seat follows the same standard of material and form: sober, precise, designed to develop character over time. Available in four shades — brown, gold, black, chocolate — to match each motorcycle as much as each rider.

For those looking to carry a few things without compromising the line, our leather side bag attaches to the frame without a single drill hole — and marks a silhouette you recognise from a distance.

Royal Enfield: raw character, handled with care

The Royal Enfield Interceptor 650, Continental GT 650, and Bear 650 share the same 648cc parallel twin — and considerable potential for improvement, precisely because the original plastic parts leave room for better.

Our parts for Royal Enfield start from that observation. The aluminium side covers for the Interceptor/Continental GT are our flagship reference on these models: they replace the original plastic covers with parts machined in the BAAK workshop, available individually with stainless fixings included. The effect is immediate — the motorcycle gains several degrees of finish.

The Royal Enfield 650 Heritage seat is our most distinctive piece on this platform. Hand-finished in Lyon in full-grain double vegetable-tanned leather, it sits where the production series placed synthetic — and changes the register of the machine at once. A sober seat, without superfluous stitching, that takes on the patina of time and roads. The Bear 650, with its more settled character and more substantial silhouette, naturally calls for this kind of treatment: a leather seat that dresses without weighing down.

Moto Guzzi: Italian warmth, treated with respect

The V7 and V9 have something that few modern motorcycles still possess: warmth. Not just thermal — that of the transverse V-twin that warms your legs at traffic lights — but a warmth of character, an immediately recognisable presence.

Our parts for Moto Guzzi follow this logic of respect. The aluminium starter cover — compatible with V7 I, II, III, V7 850 and V9 — dresses one of the few zones that betray the age of the platform. The Classic rear fender for V7 I, II and III is a more committed piece: made in stainless steel, integrating a type-approved LED rear light and plate lighting, it transforms the back of the machine into something coherent and finished.

The Moto Guzzi V7 850 Heritage seat completes this logic: full-grain double vegetable-tanned leather, hand-finished. On a V7, a leather seat isn’t an accessory — it’s the natural conclusion of a motorcycle that has had character from the beginning.

BMW R nineT: the most open playing field

The R nineT is the motorcycle that established the concept of a naked, open platform for first-tier manufacturers. BMW designed it to be worked on — and that shows in the logic of the fork, in the coherence of the whole.

Our parts for BMW R nineT cover the complete range: NineT Standard, Scrambler, Pure, Racer, Urban G/S and the new R 12 NineT. The BMW R nineT Heritage seat is our most requested piece here: in full-grain double vegetable-tanned leather, it answers what BMW deliberately left open — a seat the rider must make their own.

We’ll return shortly with a dedicated piece on this platform. The R nineT deserves the time it deserves.

What runs through every brand: parts that hold

Some parts in our catalogue fit any motorcycle, regardless of brand. Our universal parts include several references that appear across the majority of the BAAK workshop projects.

The round under-bar mirror ø8: mounted underneath the handlebar, it offers a minimal look and real visibility through its wide-angle mirror. The mo.blaze Pin LED mini-indicators: our craftsmen crimp them with Japanese terminals before shipping. The full-grain leather cable wrap — aged brown, black or gold, several lengths — is one of those small details that separates an ordinary finish from an obsessive one.

Our BAAK Handlebar No.1 — Ø25.4mm, stainless steel, black satin or brushed — is the piece that most radically transforms a motorcycle’s line and riding position. It fits every motorcycle equipped with a standard fork stem. It’s one of our most exported pieces.

Wearing what we make: the BAAK lifestyle selection

The full-grain double vegetable-tanned leather on our motorcycle seats is the same leather protecting your boots on the gear lever. It’s a simple logic, and it says something essential about how we think about our work: we don’t make two separate families of products. We make things well, in the same materials, for people who pay attention.

Our lifestyle selection brings together pieces to wear — made by BAAK or chosen because they share the same convictions.

BAAK × Le Garage Français is the partnership that shapes most of this selection. A French brand with a taste for well-chosen fabric and sober cuts: their riders’ navy coach jacket, their oversize knitwear (Natural, Marine, Damier), their long-sleeve polo wear as naturally in the workshop as outside. The co-signed BAAK × Garage Français leather jacket is the most committed piece in this collaboration — a black motorcycle jacket with integrated removable protectors, straight cut, press-stud collar, 1970s aesthetic without the trend effect. And the BKBO 2026 T-shirt, created specifically for the Shotgun 650 built in the BAAK workshop for Bike Shed London, marks in one print what the partnership stands for.

On the leather goods side, full-grain leather draws the thread between the motorcycle and everyday life. The same leathers, the same shades — brown, gold, black, chocolate — the same BAAK logo hot-pressed in. The leather key ring (€24) is the entry piece: simple, with the ring and logo hot-pressed, made by our craftsmen in the same leather as the seats. The glasses case (€35) follows the same logic — supple, unaffected, designed to protect without getting in the way. The leather tool roll (€149) is the most serious piece in the range: exposed stitching, multiple compartments, a flap holding the tools in place — a roll you keep for thirty years. The leather shoe protector (€45), reversible brown/black, is the most direct proof that the two worlds touch: made in the same leather as our motorcycle accessories, it protects your boots on the gear lever and flips according to the shade of the day.

For those looking further, the VELDT × BAAK “Endless” helmet — full-face, beige and black, sand and asphalt — is another expression of what we stand for: a piece designed not to age, built to cross time rather than follow a season.

In the Rillieux-la-Pape workshop, the leather we work with comes from selected sources. The seats are hand-finished, the stitching made to hold. The aluminium is machined here, the stainless steel chosen for its durability over time. Every part starts from the same place: the conviction that a motorcycle with character deserves the care it deserves.
