Build story #3: between Derbyshire and Abu Dhabi, there is Lyon

James lives in Abu Dhabi, his father in Derbyshire. Before riding across Europe, they left their 2026 Triumph Bonneville T120 with the BAAK atelier in Rillieux-la-Pape for three days.

BUILD STORY #3

James lives in Abu Dhabi, his father in Derbyshire. In autumn 2026, they arranged to meet for a motorcycle journey across Europe.

Before setting off, James chose to fit out his 2026 Triumph Bonneville T120, the latest generation of the Bonneville, with BAAK parts. For the fitting, father and son made a detour to our atelier in Rillieux-la-Pape, just outside Lyon.

The atelier reorganised its schedule and offered them this: leave the T120 with us for three days, and set off to discover the region on a BAAK machine in the meantime. They said yes. In their road book, our favourite outings: Mont Thou and its viewpoint, to take in the whole region at a glance, then the hill of Fourvière, for its view over Lyon.

Three days at the atelier

Day 1. Almost every part was in place. The first photos reached James that same evening.

Day 2. James and his father came back to the atelier for thirty minutes on the roads around Rillieux: they tried the machine and signed off the final adjustments.

Day 3. The T120 was ready to rejoin the roads of Europe, with a few pieces from the BAAK lifestyle collection tucked into their panniers.

The parts fitted

What this T120 now carries: a short leather seat with dedicated stitching, a tank strap, a short exhaust system for the T100 and T120 (specific fitting: contact us), an engine guard, the BAAK N°1 handlebar with its risers and flat top yoke, a Heritage headlight and its brackets, leather fork gaiters, bar-end mirrors, mini indicators, a long cable kit and full-black 2Win shock absorbers.

James’s T120 confirms, on the 2026 generation, what our own testing had established: our parts belong on it. Only one is still to come: the headlight with integrated speedometer, which we are finishing developing, and which James is already waiting for.

The speedometer will follow, and with it, perhaps, a new build.

What stays with us: three days to fit out the T120 from seat to exhaust, but above all many conversations with James and his father, before and after their visit. It is this encounter we will remember.

Built to be remembered.
