Stephane’s Triumph Thruxton gets a radical look
Stéphane’s Thruxton: green, pearlescent, gold-bordered. He wanted to keep the paint. Everything else was open. BAAK started with leather — aged brown saddle, fork gaiters, handlebar straps. The bike kept its colour. Nothing else survived unchanged.
Stéphane didn’t know the final result he wanted for its bike. The green pearly painting with golden borders was great — the decision was to keep it. The leathering came first: aged brown saddle, handcrafted — passenger seat included. Fork gaiters and handlebar straps in the same tone. The front was lightened: brushed handlebar, brushed mirrors, mini speedometer on a custom plate above the steering column. The ignition switch moved under the tank.
This bike gets a radical look with Heidenau K60 tires and a short license plate support / fender eliminator. The off road tires give it an aggressive look without destroying its driving skills. The tank painting was the only thing that enabled him to recognize his Thruxton at the workshop when he came to (re)discover it.
